'Hi, welcome to my web site. I hope you enjoy browsing through my artwork. My paintings are all my original work and prints are limited edition.'
Sylvia specialises in tropical landscapes and is well known as one of north Queensland's foremost artists. Working with gouache (opaque watercolour) on acid free rag paper and oils or acrylic on canvas, her paintings reflect the ambience of natural environments from the beach to the bush.
Painting mainly en plein air (in the field) Sylvia continues to crisscross Australia in search of subjects for her work, from Townsville to Broome, Alice to Adelaide and beyond.
Artist residencies at Arthur Boyd's Bundanon Trust, Uluru and Port Douglas as well as a recent foray into Asia with Redgate Gallery Beijing enrich Sylvia's creative work.
"I draw inspiration from natural environments. In my paintings I aim to capture the beauty of the Australian landscape, especially the tropics where I live".
