Sylvia Ditchburn’s love of the Australian natural environment is reflected in her art. A peripatetic artist she has spanned the continent from Townsville to Broome, Alice to Adelaide and beyond. Sylvia has held solo exhibitions in regional and capital cities and her work has been included in many group exhibitions. She has participated in several art residencies, the most notable Arthur Boyd’s Bundanon Trust in NSW and in 2007 a residency in Beijing China was inspirational. An invitation for a solo exhibition in Russia in 2008 and representation by Agora Gallery, New York 2012-13, has extended Sylvia's international reputation.
The beauty and diversity of country is experienced and intellectual stimulation by way of academic study with a Doctorate of Philosophy in visual arts, informs Dr. Ditchburn's work.
